Swinging

Because he's had a cold, Isaac has been sleeping in the swing. That means he isn't swaddled and his hands are free. I keep finding him with his fingers in his mouth.

Play dough

Anna Kate and I made play dough today. We used the recipe my mom has used for years. Anna Kate requested red play dough but I thought that might take a little too much food coloring. Anna Kate likes to make snakes and pies when she plays with play dough.

Bathing Beauty

I walked into the bathroom and found Anna Kate like this - feet out, blowing bubbles and playing with toys!

Sleeping Cutie

Something so sweet about a sleeping baby!
(Don't worry - Isaac sleeps on his back 99% of the time.)

Pre-School Lovin' Girl

Anna Kate is still loving pre-school! Sometimes it's hard to get her to tell us what happened but little tidbits come out all week.

She explained all the rules of "Duck, duck, goose" they other day.
She pumped the soap pump twice and I reminded her that she can only do one pump and she said, "Oh, just like at pre-school."
She told me, "I know all the kids name in my class but I still need to learn all their parents' names."

It cracks me up when Isaac raises his eyebrows.

Anna Kate has been a princess nearly everyday for a week. I think it's cute that she likes to dress-up.

Anna Kate wants me to take pictures of her really close up so we can zoom in on just her eyeball.

Anna Kate wore whis dress with her yellow converse to church today because she said, "I'm wearing my Minnie Mouse dress and Minnie wears yellow shoes so I need to wear my yellow shoes!"

16 Weeks Old

Isaac at 16 Weeks:

He is still a quiet guy but this week the volume of his cry is about 10 times longer! I'm always surprised by it and amazed that Anna Kate isn't woken up by it in the middle of the night. I'm just glad it doesn't happen often!
He caught another cold, poor guy! He's been doing lots of sleeping in the swing to keep him upright.
He's still not a great sleeper at night. I keep telling him that once he is done with this cold that it's going to be time for some tough love. We'll see...
He can only stay awake for an hour or so during the day and then he is ready to nap again. Some days I feel like I barely see him.
I think he's finally stopped losing his hair. (I wish I could say the same for me!)
We love our happy boy!

BelleWood Acres

We picked up Brianna and headed to BelleWood Acres to check out their apple orchard.



We had fun on the wagon ride around the farm and learned a lot about apple farming.

It was such a nice day!

I didn't notice the Indian corn in the pumpkins eye until Anna Kate took it out.

Anna Kate was so excited to tell me about the beehive Brianna showed her.

Besides the wagon ride, we got to sample apples with peanut butter, caramel and cheese. We shared a yummy apple flower with caramel too!

Birthday Lunch

Happy 35th Birthday to Mike!

He spent the evening officiating a high school football game so Anna Kate, Isaac and I met him for lunch at the Olive Garden!

For fun!

I got a new camera and some new lighting so I've been having fun playing around with them. I don't really know what I'm doing but at least I have cute kids to practice on!

Bumbo Seat!

I think Isaac likes sitting in the Bumbo seat!
(We were able to trade our purple one with a blue one with some friends that just had a girl... works out well for both of us!)

A conversation from this morning...

Me: I'm going to take a shower while you watch this show.
Anna Kate: Okay

2 minutes later I hear Anna Kate in my bathroom.

Me: Anna Kate, what are you doing?
Anna Kate: I'm in your bathroom.
Me: Go watch your show, okay? But be quiet, Isaac is sleeping.
Anna Kate: Okay.

She leaves with the bathroom door wide open... brr!

30 seconds later... she's back!

Anna Kate: I'm being really quiet Mommy so I don't wake up Isaac.
Me: Great, now go watch your show.
Anna Kate: Okay.

30 seconds later... she's back!

Anna Kate: Mommy, do you smell that?
Me: Smell what?
Anna Kate: Smell it!
Me: *Sniffing* I don't smell anything.
Anna Kate: Something smells stinky and it's not me and it's not you. It's Isaac.
Me: Great! GO WATCH YOUR SHOW!

15 seconds later... she's back!

Anna Kate: Mommy, Isaac's smiling at me! I said, "I'm going to go watch a show." and he smiled two smiles!

So much for my shower!

I found a little trick to get Anna Kate to be a little more cooperative when I want to take pics of her. I let her take turns with me picking poses.

PS She needs her bangs trimmed. She keeps lifting her eyebrows and saying, "Look, my eyebrows can hide behind my hair."

A fun and busy visit!

Grandma and Papa came to help Brianna move into her dorm. Lucky for us we got to hang out with them too.

They brought Luke with them because he is Brianna's #1 fan and was already missing her. He and Anna Kate get along so well and have the best time together.

15 Weeks Old

Isaac at 15 weeks:

Still chewing his hands and fingers like crazy. The other day he got just two in his mouth, was sucking on them and then gagged himself. Poor guy!
Kicks like crazy in the bath.
Likes to stand on laps and does a little marching with his feet.
Is really starting to notice when I leave him. He does not like it when I lay him down for a nap and then leave the room.
Did great on both of our long car rides this week... slept for the majority of the time.
Still wakes up a lot during the night... I'm hoping that will change soon.
Sticks out his bottom lip when he gets sad.
He has quite the bald spot on the back of his head.
We've heard lots of cute giggles from him but they are usually followed by hiccups.
We love him more each day!

Move-in day!

A new key to a new room!

Brianna and her "helper!" We stayed for a couple hours while Brianna started unpacking. We weren't much help between me feeding, changing and holding Isaac and Anna Kate wanting to run around in a small place!
