Anna Kate's kitties, Prance and Silver, put on a great concert by "singing" into the microphone!

I told Anna Kate that I was going to the doctor today and she asked if the doctor was going to give me a poke, meaning a shot. I told her no and that the doctor was just going to check on the baby inside my tummy. When I came out from the appointment she kept saying, "I want to see the baby the doctor put in your tummy!" Hmm... not quite! She also kept trying to lift my shirt. I told her the baby was under my skin and she can't see it yet. She said she wants to rock and pet the baby. We finally told her that she can see that baby when she's three and she seems to be okay with that!

Our Artist

Anna Kate was asking to go to Target (her favorite store) to get some chalk so she could FINALLY use the other side of the easel! She's been drawing lots of pictures just so she can erase them.

Fun with Furby

My mom found a Furby, brand-new in the box and Anna Kate has been enjoying it. If you put something in it's mouth it says, "Yum!" so Anna Kate likes to feed it LOTS of "food." She also likes to wake it up and when it sings. It's provided her lots of entertainment!

Christmas Day!

Anna Kate kept saying she wanted a Tinker Bell toy and a Mickey Mouse toy so she was happy to see those things!

She was pretty excited about the oranges in the stockings too.

Nana got new boots! Anna Kate tried them on and then said, "They're too big. Papa has big feet!"

And lucky for us... Santa came! (It's really my Grandpa Fred. He always did this for us growing up and since he was going to be in town he was able to do it for a few of his great-grandkids.)

The kids were spoiled with gifts!

A new easel from Uncle Patrick!

The adults did a white elephant gifts. My parents came up with the best gift. A three wolf moon shirt and poster. Go here to find more about it... you have to read the reviews for it to make sense... it will make your day!

My mom had a cute holiday tea party for the girls. Aunt Heidi got the girls the cute hats.

Luke and Anna Kate then did their own tea party using the American Girl toys.

We had a great Christmas! Thanks Mom and Dad for EVERYTHING!

Christmas Eve

We headed down to my parent's Christmas Eve.

The girls had fun with the necklaces.

After a yummy dinner we did a little nativity program. It was really cute! Anna Kate was the angel. I don't think any of us took any pictures of them dressed up though! Bummer! We did get some funny videos.

We tried to get a cute picture of all four grandkids... they were SO cooperative!

This was the best one!

We went caroling to a few houses. The kids loved it! Molly wanted to go to more houses and Anna Kate kept singing Jingle Bells even though everyone else was singing We Wish You A Merry Christmas.

Uncle Patrick brought over a few gifts for the kids to open up early. Anna Kate loved her Ariel doll. When I asked her what Santa was going to bring she kept saying an Ariel doll. I think she would have been completely content with just that.

Painting

Anna Kate loves to paint and had fun painting these ornaments. I should have taken a photo of the finished product... very interesting!

A Haircut and Some Shopping

I was finally able to talk Anna Kate into getting a haircut. We had to go back to the same place and the same gal who did it before. Even then she was a little apprehensive. She went for it after they showed her the sucker they would give her when she was done! Woo-hoo... we can see her eyes again!

After the haircut and lunch with Daddy, we headed to the mall for some last minute Christmas shopping. We walked by Santa Claus and I pointed him out to Anna Kate. We had talked about going to see him and she didn't really want to. Although she would say, "Santa Claus is nice; he's not scary." as if she was trying to reassure herself. So I was shocked when she said, "I want to go see Santa Claus. I want to talk to him like those kids." I warned her it would be a long wait but she said that was okay. We waited for about 15 minutes. She was SO EXCITED to see Santa. She sat on his lap and told him she wanted toys, specifically a Tinker Bell toy and a Mickey Mouse toy. He gave her a coloring book and elf ears and she was thrilled! Since I wasn't planning on visiting Santa I didn't have my camera so I only took pictures with my phone and I'm not sure how to get them onto here.

Old toys

I pulled out my old Strawberry Shortcakes and My Little Ponies for Anna Kate and she has been having a great time playing with them. Funny that these toys are making a come back!

Just a cute girl!

Pacifier???

Anna Kate found this old pacifier of hers again. She was so excited to pretend to be a baby... ALL DAY! She kept saying, "I need my pacifier!" She gave up the pacifier on her own when she was 9 months old and I definitely didn't want her to get attached. Needless to say, the pacifier has been hidden better this time.

Puzzles

Anna Kate loves these Strawberry Shortcake puzzles Mallory gave her. She is getting better and better at them too. In this particular puzzle she always finds the same two pieces and puts them in first. Sometimes she just dumps out the pieces and then says, "Put it together Mommy. I'm just going to watch." Nice...

Five weeks without a post... is anyone still checking this blog???

Well, I can't say that I haven't updated because I've been super busy. In fact, just the opposite. I've been spending almost all my time on the couch, feeling miserable because...

Anna Kate is going to be a BIG SISTER!

I've been way more sick than I was when I was pregnant with Anna Kate. I kept thinking that it had to get better soon but the further along I got, the sicker I got. I felt okay as long as I didn't move so I watched a lot of TV, finally read all of the Twilight books and completed five 1000 piece puzzles. Impressive, I know! :) Poor Anna Kate learned to ask, "Are you not feeling very good, Mommy?" However, last week I got a wonder pill and I've been feeling a lot better. Still a little icky in the evenings but at least I can eat and move around! We are really excited for the new baby this June!

I'm going to try and get caught up for the past five weeks. So come back in a few days scroll down below if you want!

two and A HALF

Anna Kate is TWO and a HALF!

She was so excited when we told her she was two and a half. She kept asking us to ask her how old she was.



Your half-birthday is also called your cupcake day so of course we made some cupcakes! Anna Kate is a great helper!

She asked for a candle as well. Luckily she didn't ask where her presents were!

Asks to watch TV all time... and since I've been feeling sick she's gotten to watch more of it than usual. She knows all the shows/characters on Playhouse Disney and Sprout.

Microphone Obsession

Anna Kate was so excited to find all three of her toy microphones! She talks all the time about being able to talk in the microphone at church. She will be four when she gets to participate in the Primary Program at church. So now she tells us, "I talk in the microphone when I'm 4!"
